Testament of Adam
The Testament of Adam is a Christian pseudepigraphic work that has come down to us in Syriac and Arabic . The oldest surviving manuscript is from the sixth century, but the text itself is from the fourth century and was probably written in Edessa . The text claims to reproduce Adam's last words to his son Set , in which he describes a kind of cosmic hourly prayer , foretells the coming of the Messiah and the Flood , and explains the hierarchy of angels .
Other representations of Adam's last words can be found in the Apocalypse of Adam , in The Lives of Adam and Eve (Moses Apocalypse) and in The Battle of Adam .
