The leaf locusts (Tettigonioidea) are a superfamily of the long-feeler terrors (Ensifera). This group is very rich in species and forms.

features

The flight organs are often reduced. With the exception of the group of Meconematinae , the flight organs are preserved at least in males in the basal part with the stridulation organ . Hearing organs are always found in the anterior tibia . The tarsi are depressed and four-limbed. The third tarsal link is roughly heart-shaped. The cerci of the males are not structured. The ovipositor has different lengths, but is well developed in all species. It is composed of three pairs of gonapophyses.
