Place-name sign on Prinzendamm from the direction of Dreibrück

The Teufelshof settlement in the east of the Havelländisches Luchs belongs to the very rural “district” of Kienberg in the city of Nauen.

It has (2013) only twelve permanent residents. There is also an allotment garden colony with 15 plots.

The settlement is connected to Kienberg by a mostly paved road and to Dreibrück by a flat track path .

Today, the surrounding land is mainly used as cattle pasture by businesses from neighboring towns. It is rich in breeding birds and a resting place for large migratory birds such as geese and cranes .

history

Until the second decade of the 20th century, the so-called Teufelsluch in the east of the Havelländisches Luchs near the Kienberg estate was uninhabited and, at best, was used extensively.

It was only made arable during the First World War . Russian prisoners of war who were housed in the Bergerdamm camp were used for the renovation work , especially the digging of the drainage ditches . Two new manors, the Ebereschenhof and the Teufelshof, were built to manage the land that was gained . Today it has fallen into disrepair, but farm workers' accommodation and a farm building have become single-family houses.

The allotment garden colony was set up in the 1980s for press employees from East Berlin.
