Tex Lecor

Tex Lecor (born Paul Lecorre ; born June 10, 1933 in Saint-Michel-de-Wentworth , † September 9, 2017 in Terrebonne ) was a Canadian singer-songwriter, presenter and painter.

Lecor studied at the Montreal School of Fine Arts from 1957 to 1963 and performed in his own bar, La Poubelle , as early as the late 1950s . Between 1963 and 1966 he sang in various cabarets and bars in Montreal and recorded his first LP on the London label . In 1969 three more LPs were made by Gamma Records . He had international success in 1970 with Georges Langford's song Le Frigidaire , which he recorded in five languages.

Between 1970 and 1974 he was the presenter of the Sous mon toit program on CFTM-TV. He recorded four more LPs with Gamma Records between 1972 and 1978, as well as an LP with London . His musical directors and arrangers included François Dompierre , Eric Nico , Paul Baillargeon and Léon Aronson . He had his last appearance as a singer in 1982. Since the late 1970s he turned to painting and had exhibitions in Montreal, Quebec and New York. In addition, he moderated various humorous programs on the radio station CKAC ( Tex matinal , Insolences d'un téléphone , Festival de l'humour and Patrick et moi-même ) and on CBC television ( Mon Pays, mes chansons ).
