Texas Jack Vermillion
John Wilson Vermillion ( 1842 in Russell County , Virginia; † 1911 ), aka "Texas Jack" and later as "Shoot-Your-Eye-Out" Vermillion, was a gunslinger of the Wild West, known for his participation in the Earp Vendetta Ride with Wyatt Earp after Morgan was killed by Earp in 1882, and his subsequent association with Soapy Smith .
Life
He was born one of twelve children to William and Nancy Owens Vermillion. He participated in the war on the Confederate side and fought under General JEB Stuart. After the war he went to Indiana, where he married Margaret Horton in September 1865.
