The Thüringer Aufbaubank (TAB) is the central funding institute of the Free State of Thuringia . It is an institution under public law and was founded in 1992. The first chairman of the board was Carl-Ludwig Wagner . The sole shareholder is the Free State. He has assumed the guarantor liability and the institutional burden . The legal supervision of the bank lies with the Thuringian Ministry of Finance.

Tasks and instruments

In addition to economic development, the bank's tasks include housing and urban development, technology, financing for public customers, agriculture, environmental protection and infrastructure. For this purpose, the Aufbaubank provides low-interest loans and grants. It also issues guarantees. Thuringian companies can also receive equity capital through the subsidiary bm-t Beteiligungsmanagement thüringen gmbh. The target groups of the bank are companies, apartment and house owners, municipalities, municipal companies and farmers. The Aufbaubank works closely with the banks and savings banks as well as with the other federal and state development banks.

Refinancing the bank

The promotional bank's lending business is fully refinanced on the money and capital markets. To this end, the Aufbaubank issues bonds or draws on funds from financing agreements. The bank is subject to legal limits. For example, it must not take any currency risks and only conduct its business in euros. The Aufbaubank enjoys the highest solvency classification (Solva zero).
