Thaersche Villa

The Thaersche Villa , built in 1793 for the agricultural scientist Albrecht Daniel Thaer , is a listed half-timbered house in Celle . The building north of the Aller is on the property of "Thaers Garten" at the east end of the Dammaschwiese . In the Third Reich the building was used as an SS training center. Since 2010 the site has served as the seat of the Lower Saxony Memorials Foundation , whose task it is to “ dignify the victims of National Socialism ”.

By January 2010, the building was completely renovated by the city of Celle as the client and converted for seminar and office use.
