The Lower Saxony Chamber of Architects is the professional association of around 10,000 architects , interior and landscape architects and urban planners in Lower Saxony . The seat of the Chamber of Architects is the Laveshaus at Friedrichswall 5 in Hanover , Mitte district .

history

In 1996 the Lower Saxony Chamber of Architects acquired the former residential building of the architect Georg Ludwig Friedrich Laves as well as the neighboring studio building in Hanover. After restoration , reconstruction and additions by the architects Pax + Hadamczyk, architects Koch + Panse from 1997 to 1998, the Chamber of Architects moved into its new headquarters on Friedrichswall 5.

In 1998, the Lower Saxony Chamber of Architects established the “Foundation for the Promotion of Young Professionals”. The patron of the foundation , which has been called the Laves Foundation since 2007 , was the former Lower Saxony Minister of Economic Affairs, Walter Hirche . The foundation refers to the royal court architect Laves and spans “the arc from the Hanoverian tradition to the Lower Saxony future of building”.

Since 2002 the Chamber of Architects has been cooperating with the Lower Saxony state government in the tender for the " Lower Saxony State Prize for Architecture " and in the annual symposium on building culture.
