The Assembly was a short-term musical project by the former Depeche-Mode - and today's Erasure musician Vince Clarke, together with Eric Radcliffe , who had previously appeared as a sound engineer and co-producer of several Yazoo records.
background
Initially planned as a project with changing singers, there was only one single release ( Never Never , Mute Records 1983) with the former Undertones singer Feargal Sharkey , who subsequently made a comeback with a number of hits. The single Never Never reached number 4 in the UK charts. The single was added to the Bayern 3 Radio One-Hit-Wonder collection.
Vince Clarke then released a single (without Eric Radcliffe) with singer Paul Quinn ( One Day , Mute Records 1985), before founding the duo Erasure with Andy Bell in 1985 .
