When the African footballer Driss Assani is found dead from the nearby river, it is initially believed that he has committed suicide and the police chief does not want to start any further investigation.

But Peeters does not believe in suicide . Together with his young colleague Sébastian Drummer, he investigates and soon comes across a dark web of lies and obsessions.

production

The series was shot by the TV channel RTBF in collaboration with the Belgian region of Wallonia .

The second season was produced in the summer and autumn of 2017 and will run on RTBF in 2018.

Charisma

The German-language version was broadcast on Sky from April 12, 2017 .

reception

Critics praised the production and compared the style of the series with the American southern drama " True Detective ", in which the landscape is gloomy and oppressive and plays a major role.

“The almost deserted landscape was staged in an unusual way, the Ardennes appear gloomy, mysterious and beguilingly beautiful. [...] The score cleverly quotes from country and western, vaguely reminiscent of 'True Detective' and underlines the strange mood. "
