The Brighouse & Rastrick Brass Band , also known as The Brighouse and Rastrick Band , is a British brass band from West Yorkshire .

Career

The history of the Brighouse and Rastrick Band dates back to 1881. With the piece The Floral Dance , recorded in 1976, the brass band succeeded at Christmas 1977 in expanding their previously only regional success. The song entered the UK charts in late November , reached 2nd place in week five, and held that position for six weeks until mid-January 1978. This makes the instrumental one of the ten best-selling singles of 1977 in Great Britain. In Germany , the song climbed to number 29 in February 1978. The album of the same name entered the English charts at the end of January and came to number 10. There were no further chart successes. The band is still active today and publishes records .
