The Cure is the twelfth studio album of the same name by the English band The Cure . It was released on Geffen Records in June 2004.

history

After the record deal with Fiction Records expired, The Cure signed a contract for three albums with Geffen. As a co-producer, Ross Robinson first worked on a studio album by the group. Compared to the band's previous albums, The Cure was musically harder, which is attributed to the influence of Ross Robinson.

The illustrations on the cover are from Robert Smith's nieces and nephews. At the time of creation, these were in childhood and did not know what the drawings should be used for. Smith asked her for drawings on the subject of Good Dreams - Bad Dreams and selected a few for the cover.

criticism

On the Allmusic website the album got 3 out of 5 stars. The album contains music that you can "just enjoy". Nevertheless, The Cure is "the kind of album that is on the shelves of hardcore fans and only occasionally finds its way into the stereo."

The Rolling Stone gave The Cure 4 out of 5 stars and ruled that it contained The Cures "most passionate music since disintegration ".
