The Deff Boyz was a studio project of the British producer Paul Hardcastle (born December 10, 1957 in London ).
Because of contractual problems in 1990, Hardcastle was temporarily unable to publish under his real name. Therefore he created the project The Deff Boys and hired the singer Tony Mac for it. The dance / house single Swing , which was released in the UK in July 1990 , entered the UK charts at the end of the month and reached 84th place. A month later, the song climbed to 27th place in Germany, and 18th place in dance music in the USA / Club Play Singles . Swing remained the only hit hardcastles under this name.
