The Fid (English for the splice nail ) is a 1640  m high and pointed mountain in southern Grahamland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises on the east side of the confluence of the Cole Glacier in the Traffic Circle .

The first aerial photographs of this mountain were taken on September 28, 1940 during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out surveys in December 1958. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it on August 31, 1962 for its resemblance to a wooden splicing nail .
