The Funkees were a Nigerian highlife / funk band. It was founded in the early 1970s after the Biafra War by Harry Mosco Agada. He played in a military band during the war. Other band members were Jake Sollo, Mohammed Ahidjo, Chyke Madu and Sonny Akpan. In 1973 the band went to London and released two albums there. In 1977 the group separated.
