The Georgia Cotton Pickers were an early blues band with some of the finest Atlanta blues musicians .

The group included the guitar playing brothers Charlie (known as Laughing Charley Lincoln ) and Robert Hicks (known as Barbecue Bob ), the two harmonica players Eddie Mapp and Buddy Moss (the latter also played guitar) and the guitar virtuoso Curley Weaver .

Between 1929 and 1931 they made a number of recordings for the QRS label in Atlanta. In 1931 the Georgia Cotton Pickers came to an end with the death of Barbecue Bob and the murder of Eddie Mapp.

Later there was another band of the same name, led by Paul Howard , who played country music.
