The Gordons (music duo)
The Gordons are a folk music duo from Illinois , consisting of Roberta Gordon and her husband Gary Gordon .
Career
The couple has been performing together since 1973 and plays mostly country music with a focus on bluegrass . Her first tours took her to festivals, bars and clubs in the Midwest . First recordings followed and their popularity grew slowly in Europe.
In 1989 recordings were made with Kenny Baker, Josh Graves and Wade Ray. In 1996 The Gordons undertook an extensive tour of Ireland and this resulted in their collaboration with Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). Two more extensive tours through Europe followed in 2002 and 2008.
