The Guild is an award-winning online sitcom about the lives of the members of the computer game guild The Knights of Good . Each episode is approximately 3–13 minutes long.

The series is intentionally kept general in order to avoid copyright issues and to appeal to the broadest possible base of MMORPG fans. The first episode was released on June 27, 2007. The series documents the life of Codex, the healer of the Knights of Good who tries to lead a normal life after one of her guild mates shows up at her door. The Guild is written by Felicia Day and directed by Jane Selle Morgan, Greg Bensen (season 1), Sean Becker (seasons 2-5) and Chris Preksta (season 6). The series is produced by Day, Morgan and Kim Evey.

The first three episodes of the series were privately financed by the producers. When the money was used up, a fundraising campaign via PayPal enabled production to continue. The shooting of the second season was financed from the proceeds of the season 1 DVD. Felicia Day managed to win the company Microsoft as a sponsor, whereby she could keep the rights to the series. Seasons 2 to 5 therefore always appeared first on the Microsoft video platforms. Due to a changed business model, Microsoft stopped sponsoring at the end of the fifth season. The sixth season, which was released in autumn 2012, was funded by Felicia Day's YouTube TV project Geek & Sundry and, like season 1, initially appeared on YouTube. On January 8, 2013, the twelfth and final episode of the sixth season was released. In July 2013, Day confirmed that there would be no sequel as a web series.

All seasons were released on DVD and are available in feature length with trivia comments on Youtube.
