Kathryn Felicia Day (born June 28, 1979 in Huntsville , Alabama ) is an American actress who appeared for her series roles as Vi in the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer , Charlie Bradbury in Supernatural , Holly Marten in Eureka secret city as well as known for film roles as in Girls United Again . She also works as the lead actress, screenwriter and producer on the web series The Guild , which won the Greenlight Award for Best Digital Series Production at the South by Southwest Festivals, the YouTube Video Award for Best Series, and the Yahoo! Video Award also won for best series.

After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with degrees in math and music, Day moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She was able to acquire various roles in smaller or independent film productions as well as in commercials and guest roles in television series. This helped her to bigger roles, including in the movie Girls United - Again , a leading role in June and a recurring role as a potential hunter Vi in the television series Buffy .

From 2007, Day worked as a series inventor, lead actress, screenwriter and producer of the web series The Guild . In July 2008, she starred alongside Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion in Joss Whedon's three-part web musical Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog . As a result, Day also had guest appearances in Joss Whedon's production Dollhouse and in series such as Lie to Me or Eureka - The Secret City . She received several guest roles on the series Supernatural and was seen in April 2012 in the episode The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo as hacker Charlie.

Day gained her first experience as a producer with her series The Guild . She traditionally works with Kim Evey on production. Day is a co-owner of several web video project production companies. In 2011, her company Geek & Sundry Inc. received an advance of $ 20 million from Google to produce web video content as one of around 100 YouTube channels as part of the YouTube TV project . The original YouTube channel Geek & Sundry was launched in April 2012. In 2014 she sold Geek & Sundry Inc. to Legendary Entertainment .

In January 2017, Day became the mother of a daughter.
