The Hardkiss , also called The HARDKISS, is a Ukrainian rock band from Kiev . The Hardkiss took part in the Ukrainian national preliminary decision for the ESC 2016 and took second place with their bilingual song Helpless .

history

The Hardkiss was founded in 2011 by the singer Julija Sanina and the guitarist Valeryj Bebko in Kiev. In September the band presented their debut video Babylon . The Hardkiss was nominated for the MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Ukrainian Act in 2012. In the same year the band performed at the MIDEM Festival in France. On May 18, 2013, the group presented their first own show in the Green Theater in Kiev. In autumn 2013 The Hardkiss was nominated for the only music award in Ukraine YUNA in the categories "Best Video Clip" and "Discovery of the Year". The group won both. In the same year the band became the face and voice of the Pepsi company in Ukraine.

The Hardkiss shared the stage with Skillet , Prodigy and Deftones at the Park Live Festival in 2014 . The Hardkiss were nominated again for the Ukrainian music award YUNA in 2015 after winning two nominations for Best Music Album ( Stones and Honey ) and Best Song (Single Stones ).

The Hardkiss took part in the Ukrainian national preliminary decision for the ESC 2016 and took second place with their bilingual song Helpless . The Hardkiss narrowly lost to the winner of the ESC 2016 Jamala . Julija Sanina was one of the four juries of the 7th season of X-Factor Ukraine . Since the end of 2016, The Hardkiss has been publishing their songs mainly in Ukrainian.
