Julija Sanina ( Ukrainian Юлія Саніна , maiden name Ю́лія Олекса́ндрівна Голова́нь Julija Oleksandriwna Holowan ; born October 11, 1990 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian singer and band member of The Hard Ukrainian rock band .

Life

Julija Sanina was born Julija Oleksandriwna Holowan to a family of musicians in Kiev and sang as a soloist in the ensemble led by her father at the age of three. She studied at a Kiev music school in the class for jazz and pop art and gained stage experience through appearances with, among others, the youth jazz band Sister Siren and occasional solo appearances.

During this time, Julija won several music competitions, including, at the age of 16, the television casting show Хочу быть звездой “I want to be a star”. After graduating from high school, she began studying philology at Taras Shevchenko University , graduating in 2013 with a master's degree in folklore.

In September 2011, together with the music producer Waleryj Bebko , her future husband, she founded the Russian-speaking pop duo Val & Sanina , which was called The Hardkiss after a change of image and the use of English in their lyrics . With this band she took part in the Ukrainian national preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 and took second place with her bilingual song Helpless.

2016 she was beside Verka Serduchka , Konstantyn Meladze ( Константин Шотович Меладзе ) and Anton Sawlepow ( Антон Олегович Савлепов ) Jury member of the seventh season of the Ukrainian TV STB broadcast talent show X-Factor Ukraine ( "Ti-Zirka").

As a voice actress she provided her voice for the Ukrainian synchronization of the cartoon The Smurfs - The Lost Village of the Smurfette in 2017 . In 2018 she won the Viva! The most beautiful 2018 from the Ukrainian magazine Viva!
