George Andrew Beck
George Andrew Beck AA (born May 28, 1904 in Streatham , † September 13, 1978 in Mossley Hill ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop of Liverpool .
Life
Charles Kambale Mbogha joined the order of the Assumptionists and was ordained a priest on July 24, 1927 . Pius XII. appointed him on August 7, 1948 Coadjutor Bishop of Brentwood and Titular Bishop of Tigias .
He was ordained episcopal by the Archbishop of Westminster , Bernard William Cardinal Griffin , on November 25 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Peter Emmanuel Amigo , Archbishop ad personam of Southwark , and Edward Ellis , Bishop of Nottingham .
After Arthur Henry Doubleday's death , he succeeded him on January 23, 1951 as Bishop of Brentwood. The Pope appointed him Bishop of Salford on November 28, 1955 . He attended all the sessions of the Second Vatican Council . Paul VI appointed him on January 29, 1964 Archbishop of Liverpool . On February 7, 1976, he resigned from his position.
