In the US, the series premiered on August 27, 1992 on FOX. Since the audience numbers were below expectations, the series was canceled before the final episode was broadcast. Thus only twelve out of thirteen episodes were broadcast. The only notable success at home was the theme song How Do You Talk to an Angel performed by Jamie Walters , which was number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks. The dismissal took place only a few days after losing the top position.

In Germany, the series was first broadcast on RTL on October 2, 1993; in contrast to the USA, the series finale was also shown there. The entire series was later repeated on pay TV, most recently in the spring of 2013 on Passion .
