The Jeff Dunham Show was a stand-up comedy starring ventriloquist Jeff Dunham using talking dolls to make his jokes. The series ran on Comedy Central USA from October 22 to December 10, 2009 . A total of 7 episodes were produced. Since September 12, 2010, the series can also be seen in the German-language dubbing by Robert Missler on Comedy Central Germany .

background

On December 29, 2009, it was announced that The Jeff Dunham Show would not return for a second season, despite above-average ratings. Nellie Andreeva , one of the producers, said that higher manufacturing costs were the trigger for the series to be discontinued.

The complete television series was released on May 18, 2010 in the USA on the DVD The Jeff Dunham Show .

Reviews and critical reception

The US episode show drew 5.3 million viewers.

The series didn't get off to a great start in terms of ratings. Metacritic gave the series 20 points on a scale up to 100. This negative criticism came about mainly because of the prejudice against Dunham and ventriloquism in general. Hollywood Reporter's Randee Dawn thought the dolls were racist.
