The Knickerbockers were an American beat band.
history
As a member of the Royal Teens , Buddy Randell (under his birth name Bill Crandle) had already made a name for himself with the composition of the song Short shorts when he founded the group The Knickerbockers in late 1964. Initially, the group performed in smaller clubs in New York until they received a recording deal in 1965. They initially recorded two singles and two albums, but they were not very successful. It was only with the single Lies in 1965 that they reached number 20 on the US charts. Two more chart placements followed in 1966, One Track Mind reached number 48 and High on love number 94. At the end of the 1960s, the group disbanded.
