The Longcut is a British rock - band from Manchester .

history

The Longcut was founded in 2002. The debut - EP Transition was published in 2004, EP A Quiet Life came out the following year. The first album, A Call And Response , was released in 2006, and it was voted one of the 50 best albums of the year by The Sun and the New Musical Express . At the end of the year they supported The Charlatans as opening act. In 2007 the EP Idiot Check was released , the second album Open Hearts was released in 2009.
