Now Here's Johnny Cash The Lure of the Grand Canyon Hymns from the Heart

The Lure of the Grand Canyon is the eleventh studio album by the American country singer Johnny Cash . It was released on Columbia Records in 1961 .

After Ride This Train , this was Cash's second concept album . It consists essentially of the five movements of Ferde Grofé's Grand Canyon Suite , conducted by André Kostelanetz , and contains sounds that were recorded in the Grand Canyon . The sixth track is a spoken commentary by Cash describing what a day at the Grand Canyon might be like.

The album failed to get into the charts and was soon forgotten, despite being one of the earliest concept albums in country music.
