Band history

Two of the members of Midnight Beast, Stefan Abingdon and Dru Wakely, had previously worked in several other bands. Abingdon, for example, was previously part of the band The Clik Clik . Together they made parodies of popular pop songs that they posted on the video portal YouTube . They teamed up with Ashley Horne for a parody of Tik Tok by the American singer Kesha . He worked more as an actor and already played in several series such as Eastenders and Dr. Who with.

Their self-penned nonsense version of their Tik-Tok version was a tremendous success on YouTube and viewed more than twelve million times. It even got them into the Australian charts. Other parody videos on their YouTube channel usually also received over a million hits. Then they also managed to bring their music comedy to the stage. They performed at festivals such as Reading and Leeds , appeared regularly on Alexa Chung's show on MTV, and produced several singles and the EP Booty Call. They made it into the UK charts in September 2010.

In 2012, British television station E4 aired the self-titled sitcom The Midnight Beast , in which the band played themselves. The series was accompanied by their debut album of the same name. The second season follows in 2014. The Midnight Beasts second album Shtick Heads was released on June 2nd .
