The Mitten (English for Der Fausthandschuh ) is a non-iced witness mountain with a flattened summit in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 3 miles northwest of Mount Armytage in the Prince Albert Mountains .
The southern group of a campaign carried out from 1962 to 1963 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named him descriptively after his appearance.
