Daily Monitor

Daily Monitor is one of the two major national newspapers in Uganda alongside New Vision . The circulation is around 20,000 and the headquarters are in Kampala .

The newspaper was founded under the name The Monitor in 1992 as an independent newspaper by six journalists. In October 2002, the state shut down the newsroom for ten days after the newspaper reported on a secret military operation. In 2005 it was renamed the Daily Monitor.
