history
At the end of 2006, the band On the Offs , which Andy Crofts belonged to, broke up. As a solo artist, he recorded demo tapes at On the Offs and posted them on Myspace in 2007 to receive feedback. When, after a few days, the British music magazine Mojo Croft's song Intermission Rag was positively mentioned, he decided to found the group The Moons . In addition, Crofts recorded the first demo tape under the title The Lunar Sessions in 2008 and 2009 , in which he played all instruments except drums. From this, Crofts released the song Don't Go Changin ' on his own label Colorama Records . From 2008 there were live performances with befriended musicians. Crofts soon formed a permanent line-up with Ben Gordelier (drums), Adam Leeds (bass) and Chris Ketley (guitar). At times, James Bagshaw and Tom Warmsley were among them, who left the band in 2012 to form the Temples .
In 2010 the band recorded their debut album Life On Earth in the studio of Paul Weller , who played two tracks. The album hit the Top 30 on the UK Indie Albums Chart. There were four single releases, including Torn Between Two as the first single. In 2010 and 2011 there were a number of smaller and larger live appearances in Great Britain, both as opening act and as headliner . In 2012 the second album Fables of History was created with the new keyboardist Tom Van Heel. The producer was Jan Stan Kybert, who had worked with Oasis , Massive Attack and The Rifles in the past . In 2012 the band was reorganized. Ben Curtis, former bassist of The Sand Band from Liverpool and guitarist Chris Watson joined the team.
