The Nullarbor (from Latin nulla arbor 'without a tree' ; meaning the tree- less ) is an ungrown plain of volcanic sand on the island of Heard in the southern Indian Ocean . It is located between Atlas Cove and Corinthian Bay in the north of the island
It is named after the Nullarbor Plain in Australia .
