İlyas Çanakçı (born September 7, 2001 in Konya ) is a Turkish sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

İlyas Çanakçı gained his first international experience in 2018 when he finished fifth in the 400-meter run at the European Youth Championships in Győr in 47.45 s and the silver medal in the Turkish sprint relay (1000 meters) in 1: 53.84 min won. He then took part in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the U20 World Championships in Tampere , where he did not reach the final with 3: 09.87 min. In October he took part in the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires , where he came fourth. In 2019 he finished sixth at the U20 European Championships in Borås in 46.48 s and won the relay in 3: 08.34 min.

In 2019 Çanakçı became Turkish champion in the 200-meter run.
