List of rose varieties

The rose variety ' The Pilgrim' , syn. 'AusWalker' is an English Rose , the David Austin has introduced 1,991th It is a descendant of 'Graham Thomas' × 'Yellow Button' and is sold in Germany under the name ' Gartenarchitekt Günther Schulze' .

'The Pilgrim' has double yellow flowers that are about 9 cm in size and come in clusters and have a strong scent. The color varies slightly depending on the climate. The shrub is about 1.5 m high and about 125 cm in diameter, has bright green foliage and is provided with large spines.

Austin writes about this breed:

“… This rose was not a random seedling. I have always been convinced that a cross between 'Graham Thomas' and 'Yellow Button' would result in a variety ... Unfortunately such a cross turned out to be very difficult, as 'Yellow Button' produces little pollen and no seeds. Only by collecting tiny amounts of pollen from hundreds of flowers did we get enough for our breeding. "

The silky flowers of the 'Pilgrim' are soft yellow and have a perfect rosette shape. The inner petals are yellow, the outer ones are almost white. The rose is very robust with upright growth, strong green foliage and very easy to remount.
