The Pilgrimage is the sixth studio album by the American rapper and Wu Tang Clan member Cappadonna . It was released on November 15, 2011 on the Chamber Music and Fat Beats Records labels. Guest rappers such as Inspectah Deck and Killa Black are featured on the album .

background

In an interview with HipHopDX in November 2011, when asked why he sounded like "revived" and in "pillage mode" on The Pilgrimage ( The Pillage is Cappadonna's first and most successful album to date), Cappadonna always sounded self-critical is that fans can be even more critical. At The Pilgrimage, however, he did not make music differently than usual and in the same way as he always does. He always gives his best and I hope that the Pilgrimage will still be remembered after a few years .

Only Inspectah Deck of the Wu-Tang clan is represented on The Pilgrimage . According to Cappadonna, this is due to the fact that Inspectah Deck is most often to be found in the "Hood" (in the socially deprived areas), where Cappadonna still often stays. Cappadonna went on to say that he and Inspectah Deck had a love for the Hood , they would never forget where they came from.

criticism

HipHopSite.com's Kailyn Brown praised Cappadonna's passion and energy in rapping about his life experiences. However , if you are looking for the typical "Wu-Tang-Sound" like on The Pillage , you would be disappointed here, because the album was not produced by RZA or by other Wu-Tang Clan rappers. The gastrappers are not bad, but next to Cappadonna they remained pale. Brown highlighted the songs Dart Imports , Good Wine, Put God First, For You, Can't Believe It's Him, and Cuban Link Kings . The latter sounds like the Wu-Tang sound from their early days, which fans would have missed.
