The Pleasure ( German : The pleasure) is a Britpop group from Freiburg , Germany .

Band history

The Pleasure was founded on March 5, 1995 by Ingo Rosch (vocals, guitar), Jens Kreuzer (vocals, bass, piano, guitar), Volker Eck (vocals, drums) and Ralf Paske (vocals, guitar, bass). In 1997 Ingo Rosch left the band.

In 1998 her first album Dorothea Parker & Friends was released by herself. A promotion agency brought the band to the producer Heiner Lürig . The band now worked with Roland Prent and Harald Lepschies . An album was recorded, but it was never released.

The song Sunny Side Up , actually planned as the title song for the album, was played on SWR3 and was the weekly winner in the newcomer series Rookies . Rugglestone Inn appeared on a sampler for the 2003 Tent Music Festival .

In 2002 the second album Didn't Catch the Sun for Shadows was released again in self-distribution. In 2004 the album Hash Brown Smilings followed on Jazzhaus Records .

In 2006 the double album The Pleasure was released on Rookie Records .

Their last album, Travel Inside , followed in 2008 , shortly before that, organ player Bernd Schmidt joined the band. The album cover was drawn by Klaus Voormann . In 2007 and 2011 the band played in the Cavern Club made famous by The Beatles .

Music genre

The band plays Britpop in the style of the sixties. Some songs are reminiscent of songs by the Beatles, Yardbirds or The Kinks .
