The Real World

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Real World is an American television show that first aired in 1992 and continues to this day. She is one of the most successful forms of so-called reality TV and the transmitter MTV broadcast. The 29th season from San Francisco has been running since January 8, 2014 .

In the show, a group of unknown people is filmed around the clock in a house. The most attractive scenes are cut together, accompanied by background music and thereby dramatized. The members are not cut off from the outside world, but can leave the house at any time.

Each year the show moves to a different city in the United States, with some episodes filmed in the United Kingdom , France and Australia .

In the fall of 1994, the pay-TV broadcaster Premiere (now SKY) broadcast "Dasreal Leben", a German adaptation of The Real World. The result was a season that was shot in Berlin.

criticism

The concept of "The Real World" is strongly reminiscent of a Dutch show called number 28 , which was broadcast in 1991, one year before it was first broadcast. Therefore, the producers were charged with plagiarism.

Another criticism was directed against the product placement that was operated in the program. For example, in the cuts that were actually broadcast, scenes were allegedly preferred in which the participants used certain brands of products that had paid for them.
