life and work

Heather B. has been active in the hip-hop scene since 1992 . In that year she was able to contribute to the album Sex & Violence by the old school group Boogie Down Productions for the MC KRS-One . In 1995 she got a recording contract with Pendulum Records, where she released her debut album Takin 'Mine in 1996 . The album's single was titled "All Glocks Down", which is reminiscent of Bertha von Suttner , whose famous pacifist novel at the end of the 19th century was titled Die Waffen Nieder! (English language edition "Lay Down Your Arms", 1892). Both this single and its successor "If Headz Only Knew" received a lot of radio playtime in the US and hit the charts.

In 1997 Heather B. signed with MCA Records, where she released a single called Do You in 1998. Her third album, Open Bars , was produced by DJ Premier .

In addition to her music career, which was quite successful for an underground artist, Heather B. was seen on the MTV reality show The Real World . She also appeared as an actress in a small role in The Wedding Video (director of the film: Norman Korpi) and in a 2005 television commercial for anti-virus software.

Since 2012 she has hosted the radio show Sway in the morning alongside Sway Calloway , in which all known American rappers appeared and which has its own YouTube channel.
