Heather Marie Diosano Cooke (* 25. December 1988 in California , Maryland ) is a Filipino - American football player .
Life
Cooke started her active career on the Bethesda Extreme Team of the Bethesda Soccer Club Association. In the fall of 1998 she enrolled at Leonardtown High School in Leonardtown, Maryland , where she was on the athletics team for four years and switched to women soccer in September 2002. In the fall of 2006, she enrolled at Loyola University Maryland and played semi-professionally for the football team at her college, the Loyola Greyhounds .
On February 7, 2013, she was signed by Washington Spirit in the so-called supplemental draft of the newly founded NWSL , but ultimately failed to make the leap into the Spirit squad, which was only 20 players due to strict NWSL regulations, and was already terminated by the club March released again. As a result, she joined the W-League participant Santa Clarita Blue Heat , for whom she appeared in five league games.
In March 2014 Cooke took part in a trial training session with the Chicago Red Stars and then moved to the Swedish third division team Landsbro IF .
International
Cooke plays internationally for the national soccer team of her mother's home country. With this she took part in the Southeast Asian Cup in Vietnam in 2012 , where she was the top scorer of her team with five goals. The Philippine national team was eliminated as third in the group in the preliminary round.
