National Women's Soccer League 2013 / Supplemental Draft

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The NWSL Supplemental Draft for the 2013 season was first carried out on February 7, 2013. Representatives of eight on the first season of NWSL participating franchises were there as part of a conference call to take in six rounds players under contract.

The supplemental draft represented the fourth stage in the franchise squad planning , after the so-called player allocation , the 2013 college draft and a phase in which players could be hired as free agents .

process

The eight participating franchises were put into a fixed draft order in advance of the event. By February 1, each participant had to submit a list of eight to ten players from which the draft pool was formed. These players were allowed to be both US and international players. However, each franchise was allowed to sign a maximum of two international players (not counting the national players of Canada and Mexico assigned in the player allocation).
