Merritt Elizabeth Mathias (born July 2, 1990 in Birmingham , Alabama ) is an American soccer player who has been under contract with the North Carolina Courage in the National Women's Soccer League since the 2018 season .
Career
society
In 2012, Mathias played for the franchise of the New York Fury in the WPSL Elite . At the beginning of 2013 she was committed to the so-called supplemental draft for the newly founded NWSL in the third round at position 22 from FC Kansas City . She made her league debut on April 13, 2013 against Portland Thorns FC . After two years at FCKC and winning the 2014 championship , she moved to league rivals and reigning runner-up Seattle Reign FC for the 2015 season .
National team
Mathias played for various youth teams of the US American Football Association . On 12 June 2018 she made her debut in a friendly against China in the senior national team of the United States.
