Cari Elizabeth Roccaro (born July 18, 1994 ) is an American football player .
Career
societies
At the age of 15, Roccaro won the championship in the semi-professional WPSL at the Long Island Fury under head coach Paul Riley . Also under Riley, she played for the New York Fury in the short-lived WPSL Elite in 2012 . During her studies at the University of Notre Dame , Roccaro then played for the local university team of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from 2012 to 2015 .
On January 15, 2016, she was committed in the first round of the NWSL college draft in fifth position by the Houston Dash . Roccaro made her professional debut on May 7, 2016 in a 2-1 win over the reigning champions FC Kansas City with a substitute for Ellie Brush . Before the 2018 season, she was removed from the Dash squad and soon after moved to league rivals North Carolina Courage .
National team
Roccaro went through several youth national teams of the US American Football Association . With the U-20 national team, she took part victoriously in the U-20 World Cup in Japan in 2012 , the final was won 1-0 over the German selection. At the U-20 World Cup 2014, however, the United States were eliminated in the quarter-finals on penalties against the selection from North Korea. Roccaro was on the field in all four games of the US selection.
