Courtney Brooke Jones (born May 21, 1990 in Palo Alto , California ) is a former American football player .
Career
Jones played for the North Carolina Tar Heels college team during her studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and began her professional career with the Boston Breakers in 2012 . In early 2013, Jones was committed to the so-called Supplemental Draft for the newly founded National Women's Soccer League in the first round in sixth position from FC Kansas City . She made her league debut on April 13, 2013 against Portland Thorns FC , on June 13, she scored her first goal in the NWSL against the Chicago Red Stars .
In October 2013, Jones' move to the Boston Breakers NWSL franchise was announced, where she retired from her active career in January 2015.
International
Jones was part of the extended squad of the US U-20 national team in 2009 and 2010 , but was not used in any official international match.
Private
Courtney Jones is the daughter of former American football player Brent Jones , who won the Super Bowl three times with the San Francisco 49ers between 1989 and 1995 .
