Elizabeth Ely Bogus (born February 24, 1984 in Provo , Utah ) is a former American football player and coach.
Career
From 2004 to 2008 Bogus played for various second-rate teams in the W-League and WPSL and changed employers every year. Before the 2009 WPS season she was drafted by FC Gold Pride , but before the start of the season she joined league competitor Los Angeles Sol , for whom she played seven games this season. Bogus spent the following two years, also in the WPS, with the Boston Breakers before returning to the Pali Blues for the 2012 season.
From autumn 2012 she and her compatriot Casey Berrier played for the Finnish first division club PK-35 Vantaa , for whom she also played in two games in the Champions League and celebrated the championship and cup victory at the end of the season. In early 2013, Bogus was committed to the supplemental draft of the newly founded NWSL in the fourth round at position 26 by Seattle Reign FC , where she made her league debut on April 14, 2013 against the Chicago Red Stars . She scored her first goal in the NWSL on July 25, also against Chicago.
In December 2013, she signed a contract with league rivals FC Kansas City , with which she was able to celebrate the championship in the NWSL at the end of the season. After successfully defending her title, Bogus ended her career.
