Det Jyske Music Conservatory ( Danish for Das Jütische Musikkonservatorium ; functional: Staatliche Hochschule für Musik, Aarhus , English The Royal Academy of Music) is a state institution based in Aarhus and Aalborg , which is subordinate to the Ministry of Culture . The school is under the auspices of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik .

In the course of internationalization, the school bears the name extension The Royal Academy of Music .

The Aarhus Conservatory is in close proximity to Aarhus University .

Competence center DIEM

The Danish National Competence Center for Electronic Music (short: DIEM - for: Danish Institute of Electronic Music ) is integrated into the university . history

The Royal Academy of Music was created in 2010 through the merger of The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, which was founded in 1927, and The Academy of Music in Aalborg, which was founded in 1930. Both academies were originally founded by Johan Nilsson and his wife Magda Nilsson.
