The Scary Bitches are a music group from England founded in 1999. The spectrum of their music ranges from Gothic Punk to Deathrock .
Career
The founding members are Alma Geddon and DEADri Ranciid . The band's lyrics mostly deal in a humorous way with topics from horror B-movies , for example about vampires, werewolves, zombies, cannibalism, necrophilia, or deal with everyday experiences of members of the Gothic scene in an amusing way . The band said: "Our lyrics cover some unusual stories about life and death and might make some people laugh, but we have always insisted that we are not a comedy band."
In Great Britain, the debut album Lesbian Vampyres From Outer Space reached number 4 in the UK Gothic Music Charts . In Germany, the group achieved popularity mainly because of their concerts.
The bizarre, extravagant costumes are designed by Dean Blunkell. Today the band consists of four members. After five years, the group released their third studio album in 2009 entitled The Island of the Damned , which offers new recordings as well as newly recorded versions of four songs from the demo. The band's wide-ranging musical style is described by them as a “combination of electronics and guitars” and they encourage “to bring different styles together”.
