Scottish colorists

As Scottish Colourists , English Scottish Colourists , a group of four in Scotland -born post-impressionist referred painters. Although her pictures did not attract much attention when they were created and first presented in the 1920s and 1930s, they are believed to have had a significant influence on the works of contemporary Scottish artists.

Francis Cadell , Samuel Peploe , George Hunter and John Duncan Fergusson are collectively grouped under this name. Her works are shown in various galleries in Great Britain; the Aberdeen Art Gallery in Aberdeen , the Fergusson Gallery in Perth and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh have paintings by these artists. In addition, the Portland Gallery in London , which specializes in 20th century and contemporary Scottish painting, has largely focused on the work of these four painters.

In 2012 the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art started a series of exhibitions dedicated to the Scottish Colourists.
