The Seesaw is an Austrian indie pop group from the city of Salzburg .

history

The band was founded in July 1991 by Michael Steinitz (Stootsie) and Max Kögl . The band was based on the music of the 1960s, both visually and acoustically.

The Seesaw achieved their first notable success in 1996 when their single Girl on the Phone became number 1 on the FM4 alternative charts. Between 2000 and 2004 the band played concerts in California (including the Troubadour in Hollywood and Spaceland in Silver Lake), and in 2005 they played at the Cavern Club in Liverpool.

The breakthrough came in 2004: on January 10, 2004 the band climbed to the top of the FM4 charts again as a trio with drummer Manuel Berger . In August he performed at the FM4 Frequency Festival at the Salzburgring, and in 2004 won the European Becks beer "Fly Away" song contest. In 2004 the band took part in the MTV Campus Invasion in Trier. As a result, the album Generation Love reached number 1 on the FM4 charts in 2005 .

In 2006 The Seesaw jumped in again at the Frequency Festival at short notice after the British band The Futureheads canceled. This time they brought the new album Couch Crisis with them. The single Cold Sweat placed again in the FM4 alternative charts. The much more commercial radio station Ö3 also played the single.

In the same year All the Same appeared , which can also be heard in the movie In 3 Days You're Dead .

Many other appearances in Germany, Austria and the USA followed. They recorded their single partners in crime in 2009 at Abbey Road Studios in London.

They created the title song of the same name for the Austrian feature film Unforgettable .
