The Solarflares were a garage rock group from Chatham / England . As the successor to the legendary Prisoners, they still enjoy cult status in the British Mod and Sixties scene. Besides England, they are particularly popular in Italy and Germany.
history
The Solarflares were founded by Graham Day ( guitar / vocals ), Allan Crockford ( bass ) and Wolf Howard ( drums ), who already knew each other from the garage rock bands The Prisoners and The Prime Movers . In 2002 the organist Parsley joined the band and from then on played live and on the albums.
The Solarflares had a small but very enthusiastic following in the international garage rock and mod scene. They played regularly in small to medium-sized halls in England, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Germany.
In 2004 the band separated for personal reasons.
Graham Day is now a solo artist, Allan Crockford plays guitar with the Stabilisers, Wolf Howard drums with Billy Childish's band Musicians of The British Empire and Parsley plays with various bands.
