content
Lost on the Desert is a story about a thief who is released from prison and wants to get his hidden loot in the desert, whereby the devil personally thwarted him and made sure that the man died of thirst. I'm Free from the Chain Gang Now tells the story of a man who is released from prison after years. Delia's Gone is about a murderer who struggles with guilt after killing his beloved Delia.
The singer landed a chart success with In the Jailhouse Now , an old classic by Jimmie Rodgers . It reached number eight on the Billboard Country Songs and addresses a gambler who goes to prison and is supposed to learn his lesson from it. Them Old Cotton Fields Back Home is about cotton farmers and their childhood. The rest of the songs are about love, mostly with a sad undertone.
